Were you born sometime between 1981 and 1996, and are you thinking about putting down roots in a great area? This blog will share five reasons Millennials love living in Marietta, Georgia.

As a resident of Marietta and a local Realtor, I've helped tons of millennials move to the Marietta area.

So I asked them, why Marietta? What do you love? And here's what I found out.

Affordable Housing (compared to downtown Atlanta)

If you're looking for a fun, vibrant city to live in, but you don't want to pay the big price tags, then Marietta is the place for you.

Fun Activities Around the Marietta Square

One of the biggest draws to living near downtown Marietta is the "Marietta Square". There are so many fun things always going on by the Square.

There are a lot of festivals, such as Chalktoberfest.

And then there is the Concert On the Square on Friday nights in the summer, Farmers' Market on Saturday morning.

My husband, Dan, and I always go to the Square, enjoying the restaurants and the shopping.

If you live in Marietta, access to the Square is super easy. You can ride your bike. A lot of people walk. And it's always just a quick Uber ride, so proximity to Marietta Square is a big one.

Close Proximity to Other Great Communities in Atlanta

Marietta is also close to a lot of other fun towns.

We're only about 25 minutes from downtown Atlanta, another 25 minutes to Roswell, Woodstock, and Alpharetta. All of those fun downtown vibrant areas are close by.

And then you can't forget about one of our favorite pastimes, which is watching the Atlanta Braves at the new Truist Park. There are always fun activities around Truist Park year-round because of The Battery.  The Battery is located next to Truist Park and features many restaurants, fun shopping, and a vibrant nightlife with a host of bars and entertainment.

So you've got great restaurants and bars and anything you want to do, which is only eight miles from downtown Marietta.

Charming Houses In the Area

Who wants a boring house? You want a house with charm, personality, and lots of options to make it your own. And we've got some great choices here in and around Marietta Square.

Great Schools

Most of the millennials we've worked with lately have said they wanted to be by the Marietta area because of West Side Elementary. They love that elementary school, but there are also many good options for schools in this area, so Cobb County schools are worth checking into.

Southern Hospitality

And I'd be remiss if I didn't say a big reason people move here is because of that good old-fashioned southern hospitality. Whether it's a lot of your friends that are moving here, which is something our client Morgan said, or just the ability to make good friends, through all the activities and things there are to do in this area, I think that you'll find you'll feel right at home.
